Some pinecones decide that simply lying forgotten on the floor of a forest isn't enough for them and self-animate to create their own meanings in life. Unfortunately for one living pinecone named Claidna, the life she found for herself was not the one that granted her much attention from the immortal guardians of Teleria. Seeing this, Plarium eventually worked to change this with Patch 8.42.0 where Claidna finally moved past being something that was casually picked up and thrown across the grass by a young child.
A1 "Touch of Slumber" went from a 70% chance to a 100% chance of [Sleep] for 1 turn, making Claidna now much more reliable in Sand Devil's Necropolis or anywhere else where you were using her to control enemies. A2 "Lost in the Woods" was altered to be more useful in the same dungeon, against Hydra or any other area of the game where your Champions would commonly have their max HP destroyed in addition to existing effects. While Claidna is Void Affinity, Lost in the Woods does not attack enemies and therefore these debuffs will be placed even if Claidna is under [Enfeeble] debuff or against Hydra Heads who are under [Poison Cloud] buff. While as a healing skill this is not quite as strong as that of Marichka the Unbreakable despite both fully restoring destroyed max HP, the [Decrease SPD] provides a more disruptive use.
A3 "Otherworld Infusion" has a very unfortunate case of being strictly worse than the A2 "Angelsong" of Cardiel, who is another Void Legendary Champion and was released many months before Claidna was, as some kind of reverse powercreep! Regardless, Patch 8.42.0 lessens the gap between Otherworld Infusion and Angelsong somewhat, the former now removing all debuffs from all allies whereas before it did nothing of the sort. Angelsong still has [Protected] [Revive on Death] but otherwise it is basically the same skill if the [Revive on Death] being removed or stolen is not something the enemy is capable of.
Originally, the Passive "Fey Monarch" only functioned selfishly with a up to a 60% chance of negating one hit of an attack that would be dealt to Claidna, any other hits resolving as normal before the Passive goes on cooldown until Claidna moves again. Now, this Passive can defend allies, but it is entirely random on which ally it will block a hit from, with no true regard for the severity of the attack - whether a minor hit from a Support champion or something as devastating as Georgid the Breaker's A3 "Deadly Ballet" although this may potentially save an ally Ultimate Deathknight-style whereas Claidna simply defending herself does not prove too much in the situation.
This mix of attributes Claidna has makes her quite a "jack of all trades" who can perform many roles in the game, but you may still find that depending on what you need, you may seek out a more specialized Champion. For anything else though, Claidna is one pinecone worth picking up and keeping in your pocket!
