Pound Pop Penny Description
The main focus of this build is to get the most out of the heavy attack from the Surround Pound called Bass Drop. It is the real star of the show here. It acts like a mini weapon based version of the outlander ability Seismic Smash that can be used on command as long as you have enough energy. It is great for wave clearing and even Mist Monsters. Just about any mission type.
For this build we chose Power Pop Penny as our Commander and Totally Rockin' Out as our team perk. This gives the Surround Pound great critical hit potential and allows us to focus our weapon perks on generating more damage. DECOY is a great ability that can be used to round up husks to drop the bass on. Bull Rush is fantastic compliment to this build. Use it when you need to get out of a pinch, reposition yourself or close some distance.
To activate the team perk we chose Breakbeat Wildcat and Varsity Hiro. Combined with Penny they will keep Rockin' Riff going on a constant basis. Allowing you to pick up fumbled footballs at your own discretion. You can always swap in Main Stage Quinn here but I find the using of Sub Wafers to be counter productive to combat.
Tank Penny is a must for most Hardware weapon builds. Anti-Cuddle Sarah is a must have for any heavy attack build, as she is crucial to regenerating your energy. Your heavy attacks will eliminate a lot of enemies and will require a significant amount of energy to use. It is always a winning combination. I always try to leave the last perk up to you. In my case, I like using Deadly Blade Crash as most of the trash husks will die to the heavy attack normally. You will appreciate the DoT affliction on the Mist Monsters though.
Assassin Sarah, Cyberclops, Fallen Love Ranger Jonesy, Paleo Luna, and Dark Vanguard Airheart are other decent options you could use. Assassin's can stack more damage with Assassination. Cyberclops adds some chain damage. Fallen Love Ranger can help regenerate energy more efficiently. Paleo Luna adds a tiny bit of base damage to the mix and Dark Vanguard turns the efficiency up a tiny notch.
Survivalist heroes and perks are always welcome to for anyone who requires their use. Goin' Coconuts is an awesome ability to use with healing on command and extra damage.
Weapon Description
Bass Drop is the main attraction. You will want to spam this ability as much as possible. The Surround Pound will use 18 energy per use with the Heavy Attack Efficiency perk on it, without adding Dark Vanguard to the mix. With her added in the support, it drops the use to 14 energy. This gives you 5 attacks before you run out of energy without having some form of regeneration occur.
It is more than enough to clear a small wave of husks. With Anti-Cuddle Sarah, all you have to do is eliminate three husks per Bass Drop to replenish the amount of energy you used and only two if you have Dark Heart equipped. Which is very easy to do.
Since the critical hit potential is so high, we forego any Critical Rating perks, instead focusing on adding more Damage perks. We want to rock out as hard as we can when we're using this. It has a devastating impact on husks.
