Giath the Truthshield was added to the game with Update 8.50 on May 9th 2024. Offered as a versatile hybrid Defense Legendary who benefits the team offensively and defensively, a player may find that Giath's mix of attributes may be just what they need for certain content in the game!

Simply by using her A1 "Revelation Spear" whether by itself, from counterattacks or Ally attacks Giath provides the [Increase DEF] she needs for optimal functionality, although this is done before she actually deals damage from her A1. The extra hit is placed on any Champion under either [Decrease C. RATE] or [Decrease C. DMG] that isn't just the initial target of her A1, but these debuffs have to have been placed by herself and not her allies. Due to how this extra hit cannot be critical, it benefits more from Giath having a high Defense stat rather than a high C. Dmg stat.

A2 "Truth Behold" would remind many players of the A3 of Taras the Fierce "Constant Pressure" and you'd be correct for comparing it to Taras' ability to summon a colossal flaming fist of Ukraine's might upon his foes. While the overall damage amplification pales compared to Constant Pressure (5% per buff extended compared to 15% per buff present on each ally including the skill caster) Truth Behold is on 1-turn lower cooldown than Constant Pressure and is suited better for when you're more concerned about keeping buffs present rather than attempting to decimate all that who stand before you. (although that is generally preferably in most situations!) Note that many buffs cannot be extended, while Constant Pressure gains damage amplification from buffs gained from Blessings such as Lightning Cage or Ward of the Fallen.

While her A1 and A2 may suggest she's designed as an alternative Defense-based nuker, her A3 "Censer Barrier" suggests more of a supportive or team protector role. While [Reflect Damage] makes this skill useful for Fire Knight, there is typical anti-synergy between it and [Ally Protection] as a great deal of the damage inflicted upon allies would be mitigated and therefore less is reflected back at the attacker. The [Strengthen] and [Increase RES] are also only placed on Giath and not the entire team, which makes this skill in terms of overall team protection possibly less desirable than alternatives if you don't have a particular use for the [Reflect Damage].

Finally, A4 (Passive) "Maw of Deterrence" is what enables the additional attacks on enemies via the A1 "Revelation Spear" by punishing enemies who attack allies protected following your A3 "Censer Barrier" primarily, but otherwise anyone under [Reflect Damage] from any source, not just anything cast by Giath Truthshield. The debuffs cannot be resisted and means Giath does not need Accuracy anywhere in her build. While they cannot be resisted, they can still be blocked or removed as per any other debuff in the game. If allies are attacked by multi-hit moves then these debuffs will be placed after the first hit and may potentially mean following hits of that attack will no longer be critical hits if the attacker had 100% Critical Rate. Against most PvE content and dungeon bosses in general with the notable exceptions of Akumori the Phantom Shogun and Amius the Lunar Archon, [Decrease C. Rate] will completely remove the ability for a PvE opponent to land Critical hits as their Critical Rate is almost always 15%.

Also, Giath's Champion Lore speaks of her serving as a bodyguard to a Knights Revenant figure named Losan K'Leth... may we see this figure being added as a Champion to the game in the future?
